Texas Hill Country Bass on the Fly
GO Outside Expedition provides guided fly fishing float and kayaking trips for bass and other warm water species on remote, pristine rivers throughout the Texas Hill Country. The spring fed, crystal clear rivers offer wonderful bass fly fishing opportunities.
We target three types of bass on the fly: largemouth, smallmouth, and Texas’ state fish, Guadalupe bass.
Hill Country rivers are also blessed with many other species that are great to target on a fly rod in the spring, summer, and early fall; such as: Gar, Rio Grande Perch, and various types of sunfish. Fly fishing for carp is growing in popularity and we can certainly structure trips for clients that want to target carp on the fly.
Fly fishing for bass is a great way for beginner fly fisherman to be introduced to the sport and can be very rewarding for the most experienced angler. Our trips are custom designed to the wants, needs, and expectations of each client.
GO has explored the Hill Country to determine access to the most scenic, and lightly pressured river sections. We provide guided fly fishing trips from: half day, full day, 2 day/overnight, and up to five days/overnight.

HALF DAY
$350 4-5 hours
The price is the same for one or two people. All gear needed is provided including drinks.
FULL DAY
$450 8-9 hours
The price is the same for one or two people. All gear needed is provided including drinks.
Our guides use 14’6” rafts with fishing frames to provide our clients opportunities to productively and effectively fly fish for bass in complete comfort. Each raft fits up to two clients. Groups larger than 2 require additional rafts/guides. We can coordinate fly fishing float trips for groups up to 8.
Fly fishing for bass on the upper Guadalupe river, lower Guadalupe river and the San Marcos river are the most consistent waters we guide. Bass fly fishing opportunities on the Frio river, Llano river, Blanco river, Colorado river, Nueces river, and Pecos river are wonderful experiences but are dependent on certain river flows and other conditions. Each trip is structured based on the client’s expectations and best available river options.
