Trout fish the Guadalupe River! The Canyon Lake Dam and the cold water released from the reservoir mark the start of the lower Guadalupe River and the roughly 16 mile section of trophy trout water. The Guadalupe river is stocked by both Texas Parks and Wildlife and Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited from late fall to late winter. The Guadalupe River is the southernmost trout fishery in the United States and considered one of the top 100 trout fisheries the U.S. Differing from some of the other stocked rivers, the Guadalupe river is known for the abundance of trophy sized trout, 15”-20+”. We provide both half day and full day float trips on this river.
