FROM CANYON LAKE DAM
Trout fish the Guadalupe river.
The Canyon Lake Dam and the cold water released from the reservoir mark the start of the lower Guadalupe River and the roughly 16 mile section of trophy trout water. The waters are stocked by both Texas Parks and Wildlife and Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited from late fall to late winter. This section is the southernmost trout fishery in the United States and considered one of the top 100 trout fisheries the U.S. Differing from some of the other stocked rivers, the Guadalupe is known for the abundance of trophy sized trout, 15”-20+”. We provide both half day and full day float trips on this river.
We focus on sections below the lake and near the town of New Braunfels. We offer half and full trips on sections that are great for beginner paddlers, families, and large groups as well as half and full day sections with rapids that will thrill even the more experienced paddlers. Kayaks and all gear are provided.
